The German Commission E
In 1978, the Ministry of Health in Germany established a series of commissions to review various categories of drugs, including a commission composed of physicians, pharmacists, toxicologists, biostatisticians and
experts in the field of herbal drugs and preparations from medicinal plants. This commission was labeled “Commission E.”
The experts in this group were given the responsibility of researching, reviewing and approving the safety and efficacy of herbs. Their approvals are based on proven data, rigorous testing and the study of historical herb use, going back centuries to review the ways in which different cultures used herbs to treat various conditions. Body Cleanse
Every herb in SLMsmart Body Cleanse has been approved by the German Commission E for use in cleansing and ridding the body of unwanted toxins. For example, the commission approves and recognizes Cascara Sagrada, or “sacred bark,” as it has been used by cultures around the world as a nutritional support for proper waste elimination.
